History

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate School of Medical Sciences was founded on March 3rd, 2011, after decision made by University Senate and submitted to Higher Education Council with Law No 433/06. Finally, it was published in official gazette with No 2012/3243, which sets forth the particular standing of the Graduate School as a juridical entity.

Professor Nilgün TURHAN Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, who has been working in the Faculty of Medicine, was charged with the foundation of the Graduate School in accordance with the Law No 2547 Article 19/b dated on August 8, 2012.

Professor Feral ÖZTÜRK, Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology in the Faculty of Medicine was appointed as the Graduate School Director as of September 08, 2015.

Professor Banu BAYAR, Head of Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in the Faculty of Health Sciences was appointed as the Graduate School Director as of July 21, 2020.

Professor Müesser ÖZCAN, Head of Department of Medical History and Ethics in the Faculty of Medicine was appointed as the Graduate School Director as of December 13, 2022.
